![]() In 1956, after completing his service in the U.S. Navy, Donald Wood joined his father in a partnership consisting of one towboat. From there, Donald built more boats, turned miles of river frontage into barge fleets, built New Orleans Shipyard, established Point Landing Fuel, a diesel distributorship, acquired sand pits and built a suction dredge named for his father, the MIV "W.B. Wood". Donald's three children, Sarah Louise Ham, Donald Wood, Jr. and Pearce Wood joined their father in the 1980's and added sand pits, expanded the range of construction materials for sale, installed ship mooring facilities and added the capability to perform maintenance dredging. While we continue to look for new growth opportunities, the Wood family along with our team of dedicated and skilled employees remains committed to customer satisfaction by providing our customers the highest quality of materials and services for the greatest value along the Mississippi River. ![]() |
